Dignity Kit Project: Restoring Dignity of Women and Girls in Uganda
The Dignity Kit Project: Restoring Dignity of Women and Girls in Uganda launched September 30 with a community celebration at Nakivubo Blue Primary School. In preparation for the event, local women in Mengo Kampala worked diligently to sew reusable menstrual pads for distribution at the event.
The celebration shared a powerful message: “Breaking barriers, restoring dignity & championing menstrual health so every girl can manage her period with confidence and stay in school.” The District Governor expressed concern over menstrual stigma and limited awareness.
The Dignity Kit Project is a collaboration between District 9213 Uganda, Kasangati Rotary Club, District 5710, Community Action Against Human Trafficking Club, and our incredible cooperating partners, Magenta Girls Initiative and Bwera United Women with Disabilities. D5710 clubs providing financial support to make this grant possible are Lawrence, Manhattan, Leawood, and Topeka South. The Milwaukee club, Arlington club, D5950 Ending Human Trafficking club, E-Club of Global Travelers and D5680, D3360, 5790, D3522, and D6780 also supported the Global Grant. Thank you to all!!
