Shawnee Rotarians clean up Lend a Hand Sculpture area in Listowel Park
A group of Shawnee Rotarians spent a couple of hours on Friday, September 12, 2025, cleaning up around our "Lend a Hand" sculpture in Listowel Park (71st and Quivira). In 2004, Rotary International encouraged Rotary Clubs to complete a project to celebrate Rotary International's 100th Anniversary, which was February 23, 2005. Our Shawnee Rotarians came up with an idea for the area where the sculpture is located; local artist Charles Goslin (1930-2023) designed and created the sculpture; the City of Shawnee provided the area, and the rest is history. There is more to this story, and in the future, we will have a club meeting in the Park to share the details of how we made this happen. We are very proud to have this labor of love in Listowel Park, one of Shawnee's Sister Cities.
