The objective of the project is to convene local service providers, law enforcement, corrections, and community leaders in Lenexa and Leawood, Kansas to equip them with the skills to identify human trafficking systems in their community and develop networks, techniques, and collaborations to counterattack these trafficking systems, thereby reducing the occurrences of trafficking.  Members of the Rotary Clubs of Lenexa, Leawood, CAAHT, Topeka South, and Taipei Oriental Integrity and members of the communities of Lenexa and Leawood met twice monthly to learn about sex and labor trafficking systems, demand, services currently available, and legislative reform that is needed in their communities. Stakeholders, Rotarians, and collaborating partners, Veronica’s Voice and Engage Together, developed a multifaceted program entitled “Accelerating the Work to End and Prevent Human Trafficking – Together,” with a goal of raising awareness of the local reality of human trafficking, and actions we can all take to expand our knowledge, build relationships, and increase our impact. The presentations from all learning sessions were recorded and, along with many other resources, can be viewed at https://www.veronicasvoice.org/rotary-swarm.
