Scholarships Awarded
Susan Jagerson and Keela Andrews, members of the scholarship committee, had the honor of representing the Rotary Club of Junction City at Junction City High School Senior Awards Night, where they presented the club’s first Charles Volland Rotary Trade Education Scholarship to graduating senior Grant Roeser.
The scholarship was established through generous donations from Junction City Rotary Club members in honor of Charles Volland, whose impact on the community and Rotary service continues to inspire others. Charles served as a respected USD 475 music educator and communications and public relations coordinator. He was also a past Assistant District Governor for Rotary International District 5710.
Beyond his titles and accomplishments, Charles was widely known as the glue that held the Rotary Club together for many years through his leadership, dedication, encouragement, and unwavering commitment to Service Above Self.
The $1,000 Charles Volland Rotary Trade Education Scholarship was created to support students pursuing trade and technical education pathways while honoring Charles’ legacy of investing in people and strengthening the community. Grant Roeser was selected in recognition of his dedication, character, and commitment to continuing his education in the skilled trades.
