Konza Recap for May
The Manhattan Konza Rotary Club enjoyed great speakers and cleaning up the Homestead property during the month of May. We look forward to an exciting June with more great speakers, President transition to Mark Rose, and installation of Michelle Sink as District 5710 Governor.
On May 1, Michael Fritschen opened the meeting & led members in the Rotary International Four-Way Test. Paul Oehm introduced Mike Matson, News Radio KMAN Within Reason Radio Talk Show Host. Mike shared his career path & talked about the purpose of Within Reason.





On May 8, Shawn Hallowell opened the meeting by leading members in the Rotary International Rotary Four-WayTest. Kenny Titus introduced BOOMTOWN USA Pyro Tech leaders, Corey Dean Reeves & ChrisHupe. Corey & Chris talked about the Best Small Town Event in Kansas. Bethany Stock was introduced as the new Executive Director for Common Table.








On May 9, Some members of Manhattan Rotary Club & our Club helped clean up the Homestead property.




On May 12, Leadership Manhattan presented Konza Rotary Club Rotarian Mark Bachamp with the 2026 Lyle Butler Distinguished Leadership Award. From professional excellence to an unwavering commitment to community service, Mark's impact can be felt across Manhattan and the region through his leadership, volunteerism and dedication to making the region stronger for future generations. Congratulations to Mark Bachamp for his years of service, leadership and investment in the greater Manhattan community.On May 15, Katelyn Andrist, Author of Becoming Confident & Miss Augusta Contestant for Miss Kansas, talked about her book & her role serving in Manhattan Special Olympics.




On May 29, Brett Foltz, K-State Sports Associate Athletic Director for NIL Initiatives & Strategic Revenue, talked about the impact of Student-Athletes' Name, Image, & Likeness. Michelle Sink introduced Brett Foltz as our Friday morning speaker. Heather Fink opened our meeting and led everyone in reciting the Rotary Four-Way Test.

June 5: Faron Barr will talk about the Rotary District 5710 Annual Fund
June 12: Jeff Pfannenstiel will talk about Good 4 MHK, at Community Service Group with a focus on Food & Farm Council
June 19: Di Hinrichs and Mark Rose will talk about the Konza Rotary Club Year in Review and Di will pass the President Gavel to Mark Rose for the 2026-27 Rotary Year.
June 26: An evening meeting will take place at 6:00 PM at the Bluemont Hotel to install Michelle Sink as 2026-27 Rotary Year District 5710 Governor.
