Our September began with a bang! At the invitation of President Shelley Carver, Rotary International President-elect Larry Lunsford joined our September 10 meeting. Before the meeting, Larry introduced himself to everyone in the room and then provided an engaging presentation about his Rotary journey and his upcoming role as president-elect of Rotary International.
Lunsford’s Rotary journey began with simply saying “yes” to Rotary. He was a 1981–1982 Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar, studying at the University of Newcastle in Australia. He shared stories from his early experiences in Rotary, his passion for basic education and literacy, and the selection process for Rotary International president. Lunsford concluded by saying he is honored to serve as the next Rotary International president and is ready to serve.

The Rotary A team packed meals for Feed My Starving Children! In just two hours, our team helped pack more than four pallets and 78 boxes of meals and they rocked those hairnets. It was a meaningful opportunity to put Service Above Self into action and Create Lasting Impact!

We celebrated milestone Rotary anniversaries: Tracey DeBruyn – 39 years, Alan Fankhauser – 33 years, Tom Giller – 35 years, Earl McVicker – 43 years, Bill Muir – 39 years, Mark Queen – 21 years, Bob Shannon – 21 years, and Bill Wolf – 34 years. Together, these Rotarians represent 265 years of Service Above Self!
